Founded over 25 years ago, Great Lakes Electronic Distributing, Inc. (GLED) is a leading custom computer system builder. GLED makes and sells the Certera™ line of IT solutions, which include desktop computers, notebooks, servers, all-in-one PCs, storage devices, and custom appliances. GLED is a family owned company, and our systems are proudly manufactured and serviced in the United States at our 35,000 square foot facility in Buffalo, NY, which is ISO 9001:2008 certified.

GLED is often referred to as a white box computer builder, but we just don't like the term “white box.” When the term was originally coined it referred to any computers that weren’t IBM brand computers. Today, most computers aren’t IBM, which has led to all computer system builders that aren’t Tier 1 (household name) manufacturers being grouped together under the designation of “white box.” We prefer to be known as a custom computer system builder, because that is a much more accurate depiction of what we do.
